Vodafone, Nos file lawsuits against ANACOM over Dense Air stalemate

15 Oct 2019

Portuguese mobile operators Vodafone and Nos have launched legal action against the National Communications Authority (Autoridade Nacional de Comunicacoes, ANACOM) for delaying the development of 5G in the country. Jornal Economico reports that the pair are questioning how the regulator is managing a stalemate with Dense Air, which is refusing to return its 3.6GHz spectrum. Last month the mobile network densification specialist said it would not relinquish its right to use the frequencies but has held discussions with ANACOM with a view to giving mobile operators access to the band.
