Utrecht residents among first to get VodafoneZiggo’s gigabit broadband

14 Oct 2019

VodafoneZiggo is launching its gigabit cable broadband internet service tomorrow (15 October 2019), initially in Utrecht, Vleuten, De Meern and Nieuwegein. The new DOCSIS 3.1-based service will be expanded to Hilversum next month and will be rolled out across more cities and regions throughout 2020 to reach two-thirds of the cableco’s customers. Cities earmarked for the 1Gbps/50Mbps (down/upload) deployment in the short-term include Amsterdam, Apeldoorn, Arnhem, Eindhoven, Groningen, Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Tilburg and Wageningen. The move follows a pilot in the Utrecht neighbourhood of Oog in Al. VodafoneZiggo’s existing DOCIS 3.0 cable broadband services offer download speeds of up to 500Mbps for consumers and 600Mbps for businesses.

A residential Ziggo Giga bundle with premium TV package (including Movies & Series) and fixed line calling costs EUR99.50 (USD109.80) per month.
