Liberty Latin America acquires remaining 12.5% of UTS

11 Sep 2019

Liberty Latin America (LLA) has completed the acquisition of the remaining 12.5% it did not already own in Curacao-based United Telecommunication Services (UTS), which provides fixed and mobile services to the Caribbean island nations of Curacao, Sint Maarten, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. The 12.5% stake was sold by the government of Sint Maarten, following LLA’s initial purchase of 87.5% of UTS from the government of Curacao in March this year. The takeover gave UTS a total enterprise value of USD189 million.
