Orange Caraibes launches Gigabit LTE

Orange Caraibe, which offers services in the French overseas territories of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Martin and Saint Barthelemy, has launched Gigabit LTE, offering downlink of 900Mbps in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana. The upgrade utilises spectrum in three bands: 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz, coupled with 4×4 MIMO and 256 QAM technologies. Orange trialled the technology in Baie-Mahault in Guadeloupe in July 2019.
