Vodafone Italy has expanded its wholesale contract with network operator Open Fiber. The partnership, already active in 271 cities and towns, will be widened to cover more than 7,600 localities which are being targeted by Open Fiber under its rollout programme in so-called ‘white areas’, which are currently unserved or underserved by fixed broadband services. Open Fiber eventually plans to cover 19 million households in both urban and rural regions with services offering connectivity at up to gigabit speeds.
