VodafoneZiggo Flexes its SD-WAN muscle in the Netherlands

14 May 2019

Dutch fixed/mobile group VodafoneZiggo’s Vodafone Business unit has launched the ‘Vodafone Flex’ service platform based on software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technology. The company promises that B2B customers on the Flex platform can add a new location to their secure corporate network within 24 hours, with a range of fully customisable services including internet, SIP trunk-based voice and home worker log-in facilities, controlled via a central management environment. The service offers ‘flexible’ contracts to adapt to companies increasing or decreasing in scale without being tied to licences for unnecessary periods. John van Vianen, business segment director at VodafoneZiggo, said: ‘Companies need manageability, flexibility and insight. They want to be in control and this is exactly what Vodafone Flex offers … companies can work smarter and more efficiently … The [SD-WAN] service is integrated with our traditional MPLS-VPN, so that existing customers can also add new locations … new customers can purchase everything via the new environment or opt for a combination of old and new. A legacy piece is no problem, precisely because you are flexible thanks to the software.’
