Orange Guinea extends 4G network coverage in Conakry

13 May 2019

Orange Guinea has announced that its LTE service is now available in all areas of the capital city Conakry following an initial launch in the Kaloum district in mid-April. A second phase of deployment will see the network rolled out to other areas of the country, in line with the operator’s contractual obligation to provide coverage to at least 90% of the population.

As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, Orange was awarded a ten-year 4G licence by the country’s regulator in March 2019, making it the first cellco in Guinea to have the capability of launching LTE services.
