The Greek telecoms regulator, the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (Ethniki Epitropi Tilepikoinonion kai Tachydromeion, EETT), has opened a consultation into wholesale pricing for copper access products. The watchdog is proposing an increase in the cost of providing wholesale ADSL lines from EUR7.05 (USD7.89) per month to EUR7.42. A further rise, to EUR8.00 per month, will be implemented in the future, it says. The move is designed to encourage consumers away from ADSL and towards faster fibre-based services, where wholesale prices are seeing a downward trend.
