Huawei says it plans to introduce 5G in Sri Lanka in 2019

20 Mar 2019

Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies has said it intends to introduce 5G technology to the Sri Lanakan market this year, with its country manager and CEO Shunli Wang quoted as saying that the company has the potential to grow its revenues in the country given the government’s commitment to embrace digitisation. In recent years the gear maker has launched multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) technology for fixed-wireless broadband services, as well as deploying a panoply of 3G and 4G cellular networks, and its proprietary CloudAir, which it claims introduced an innovation in the field of radio air interfaces.
