Manx Telecom issues pre-close trading update, reveals FTTP rollout progress

18 Jan 2019

Isle of Man’s fixed line incumbent Manx Telecom has issued a pre-close trading update for the year to 31 December 2018, saying that trading for the period had been in line with management expectations. According to the company it delivered ‘good revenue growth during the year, driven by Global Solutions and an improved performance in mobile’, with underlying EBITDA reportedly in line with management expectations and ‘underpinned by another year of consistent performance in the core domestic business’. In addition, free cash flow for the financial year was cited as ‘strong’.

Meanwhile, Manx Telecom confirmed that its rollout of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology ‘continued to gain momentum’ and revealed that its fibre network now covers all key business districts, industrial estates and selected residential areas, with more than 10% of the island’s premises passed by end-2018 – in line with a previously stated target.
