29 Nov 2018

Vodafone Germany has announced the launch of its gigabit cable broadband service in Hamburg, enabling around 590,000 households in the city to access maximum download speeds of 1Gbps. Today, just two months after launching the upgrade, Vodafone is able to offer gigabit cable connections to 4.3 million homes in eight federal states, with this set to rise to six million by year-end and eleven million by the end of 2019. Ultimately, the firm is aiming to upgrade its entire cable network – passing 12.7 million homes in 13 states – to enable top speeds of 1Gbps by the end of 2020.
