Zim government approves USD17.9m ICT budget for 2019

The government of Zimbabwe has outlined a USD17.9 million ICT budget for 2019, saying its priorities include research and development, science and technology business incubation, and modernisation of infrastructure. A report from IT Web Africa also cites Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube as saying that fixed line operator TelOne and mobile providers NetOne and Telecel are among at least five state-backed enterprises which are up for part-privatisation within the next twelve months.
