TIM and Infratel target digital divide areas of Sardinia

27 Nov 2018

Telecom Italia (TIM) has reached an agreement with the Italian government’s infrastructure body Infratel and the Region of Sardinia to improve fibre-optic connectivity in 252 underserved municipalities on the island. Starting from February 2019, the project aims to provide broadband access at speeds of over 100Mbps for public offices, local government buildings, schools, museums and healthcare centres. Meanwhile, local residents and businesses will be able to benefit from internet connections offering speeds of at least 30Mbps.
