Vodacom Mozambique expands coverage with Intelsat

Vodacom Mozambique has signed an agreement with Intelsat to use its satellite network to expand the coverage of its 3G wireless broadband services. The multi-year deal covers the area around the tourist destination of Pomene in southern Mozambique. South Africa-based Vodacom is the largest of Mozambique’s three cellular operators, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, with around 42% of the overall wireless market in subscriber terms.
