SBB to launch 1Gbps service

9 Oct 2018

Serbia Broadband (SBB), Serbia’s largest cableco and second-largest ISP overall by subscribers, has announced that it will begin offering 1Gbps services in Novi Sad and Subotica from 18 October, before rolling out the high-speed plans to Belgrade and Kragujevac in 2019, by which date SBB says its gigabit services will be available to more than 700,000 households. SBB notes that its existing HFC platform is already capable of supporting data transfer rates of 1Gbps, and that it is aiming to increase top speeds to 10Gbps through the deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 technology.
