KT Rwanda Networks (KTRN), the Korean-backed firm which is tasked with deploying Rwanda’s shared 4G infrastructure, says it is cutting the wholesale prices it charges third-party service providers. The operator says 4G prices for end users could drop as low as RWF1,000 (USD1.13) per day per GB of data, from around RWF3,000 currently, though this will depend on its 22 cellular and ISP partners passing on their wholesale savings to consumers. KTRN says it has rolled out LTE networks to cover 96.4% of Rwanda’s population, four years after launching.
