Telekom Srpske acquires Blicent; eyes second cableco purchase

5 Oct 2018

Serbia’s Telekom Srbija is to acquire Bosnian cable operator Blicnet from Telekom Slovenije for an undisclosed fee, Broadband TV News reports, citing Capital.ba. It is understood that the transaction will be undertaken through Telekom Srbija’s local subsidiary, Telekom Srpske (which trades under the m:tel banner), and is expected to be completed within two to three months.

Separately, See News reports that Telekom Srpske has been negotiating two possible cableco acquisitions in Bosnia, and confirmed reaching an agreement on important elements of both deals in a filing with the Banja Luka Stock Exchange. The company stopped short of confirming the identities of its targets, saying in the filing: ‘Telekom Srpske will not disclose any further details until the transactions are completed.’ While it is believed that the now-announced Blicnet is one of the two target companies, the identity of the second cableco has yet to be confirmed.
