Airtel Nigeria’s LTE reaches its third state, Anambra

Airtel Nigeria has rolled out its 4G LTE network in major cities and towns in Anambra state, including Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi and others, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. Anambra is the third state to receive Airtel 4G coverage, following its debut in Ibadan in February 2018 and expansion to Abuja in May. Airtel confirmed at a launch event that 4G services in Anambra are now available in Onitsha, Awka, Amawbia, Nkpor, Obosi, Ogidi, Ogbunike, Umuoji, Nsugbe, Onitsha and Nnewi, and declared: ‘With this launch, we will power people, businesses and aid governance through technology.’

TeleGeography notes that Airtel is playing catch-up with its three main rivals MTN, Globacom and 9mobile which launched LTE services in the second half of 2016.
