Chilean officials are involved in talks with the Brazilian government regarding a deal to end international roaming charges between the two countries, TeleSemana writes, citing the head of bilateral economic affairs as saying that both parties are keen on implementing the reform. The development is the latest in a recent string of anti-roaming agreements in the region. Chile has already signed an agreement with Peru to end the fees by 2020 whilst a pact with Argentina is currently under review. Earlier this year, meanwhile, the Andean Community (Comunidad Andina, CAN) – comprising Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru – also began looking into the possibility of ending roaming charges across the bloc.
