SFR Guadeloupe to deploy 800Mbps LTE-A service in late September

13 Sep 2018

SFR Caraibe is planning to commercially launch a 4G LTE-A service, called ‘4G Max’, with download speeds of 800Mbps in Guadeloupe in late September, Megazap writes. The theoretical speeds will be achieved via the aggregation of three frequency bands (800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz), in addition to the deployment of 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM technologies. 4G Max will be automatically activated for all SFR Caraibe customers regardless of their 4G packages. The operator has said that by 1 October, roughly 30% of the population will have access to the premium speeds, while downlink speeds of 450Mbps will be available to 64%, 300Mbps (89%) and 100Mbps (99%).
