5 Sep 2018

Vietnamese-backed cellco Viettel Peru (Bitel) has enlisted Chinese vendor ZTE to deploy 1,000 new base stations by 2020, Gestion reports. The first stage of the rollout will see ZTE install 200 sites across 183 provinces as the operator looks to implement the 2600MHz band on its network. The announcement follows a statement from Bitel General Manager Phan Hoan Viet last week that 2600MHz band services would be ready in 183 provinces nationwide within 120 days.
