AirtelTigo completes network upgrade in five regions

AirtelTigo, Ghana’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced that it has upgraded and consolidated its network assets of the former individual companies Airtel Ghana and Tigo Ghana. AirtelTigo has completed consolidation in the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions and has also increased its 3G population coverage in these areas. The company stated that the next phase of the network upgrade will take place in the Eastern, Volta, Western and Central regions, which will be completed this month, with Greater Accra set to be covered shortly after.
