Slovak Telekom (ST) has launched a new LTE-based fixed-wireless broadband service for business users utilising 40MHz of spectrum in the 3.7GHz band. Zive.sk reports that coverage is limited to parts of the capital, Bratislava, which is the only region where ST is licensed to operate in the 3.7GHz range. A monthly package offering 15GB of bandwidth costs EUR30 (USD35), while initial set-up fees include a EUR718.80 charge for activation and EUR358.80 for the router. The telco won its 3.7GHz concession in October 2017; other licences were acquired by rivals including Amtel Slovensko, Slovanet, Towercom, DSI DATA, O2 Slovakia, HMZ Radiokomunikacie and ORANET.
