26 Jun 2018

Spanish-owned cellco Movistar Chile has launched commercial VoLTE services – referred to as Voz4G by the company – in seven communes of Santiago Metropolitan Region, namely: Santiago, Recoleta, Providencia, Nunoa, Las Condes, La Reina and Penalolen. The service is initially enabled for only around 2,000 post-paid users, but will be made available for more customers as coverage is expanded to the entirety of the metropolitan region and the rest of the country, with Movistar expecting to complete the rollout by the end of 2018.

Hernan Cameo, CMO of Movistar Chile said of the launch: ‘Enabling Voz4G will significantly improve the experience of our customers and will allow us to continue accompanying them in this process of digital transformation that Chile and the world are experiencing. These innovations are possible thanks to our firm commitment to have the most robust networks in Chile, supported by permanent investments.’
