Finnish multi-service operator DNA has announced that it is expanding and enhancing its infrastructure in the city of Vaasa by adding fibre-optics. In a press release the company confirmed that it expects to be able to offer fixed broadband connectivity with downlink speeds of up to 1Gbps on the back of the development. With work already underway, DNA has said it expects to have finished the fibre-optic deployment – which it claims will also help support a planned 5G launch – in most parts of Vaasa by the end of this year.
