Maltese cellco Melita has announced the launch of 4G LTE-A services, offering download speeds of up to 200Mbps in Valletta and Cottonera. Melita, which is the last of Malta’s three mobile network operators to introduce 4G, says the technology will eventually be available on a nationwide basis. The network was deployed under a contract with Ericsson. Services are currently only open to contract subscribers, but will be extended to customers using pre-paid services in September.
