AirtelTigo partners with Ericsson to upgrade network

Ghanaian cellco AirtelTigo has reached an agreement with Swedish vendor Ericsson to consolidate and upgrade its network infrastructure. The partnership will allow AirtelTigo’s previously separate units Tigo and Airtel to unify network assets and provide customers with an improved internet experience. As part of the deal with Ericsson, AirtelTigo will also be able to offer expanded coverage to all parts of the country, including rural areas. CEO of AirtelTigo, Roshi Motman said: ‘The main benefits of the network upgrade to our customers are nationwide coverage, fast internet speeds and superior voice quality.’
