Turkcell deploying Ericsson Radio Dot for indoor gigabit connectivity

15 May 2018

Turkey’s largest mobile operator by subscribers Turkcell has announced it is deploying ‘indoor gigabit connectivity’ using the Ericsson Radio Dot System, designed to offer higher quality coverage and capacity in hard-to-reach places such as commercial buildings, shopping malls, conference halls and other indoor high-demand spots. A demo at Turkcell’s Tepebasi (Istanbul) office showed downlink gigabit speeds using carrier aggregation over three LTE frequency carriers, 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM, via two dual-band Radio Dot small cells at one location. Turkcell plans to expand the service to various locations during 2018.
