Digicel Fiji, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Irish-owned, Jamaica-based Digicel Group, has switched on its LTE-A network in Nadi and some parts of Denarau Island, offering users in the region ultra-high speed mobile data services via its ‘Superfast 4G+’ branded network. Commenting on the launch, Digicel Fiji CEO Mike Greig said the development follows the recent USD50 million investment to expand and upgrade its high speed networks in key population areas across the country. With demand growing for superfast wireless and more people now able to afford smartphones, Greig says Digicel is working had to cater for pent up demand. The other areas already served by LTE-A are Lami and Nausori, he said.
