Interfax-Ukraine reports that the three recent winners of 2600MHz/1800MHz 4G LTE mobile licences aim to launch LTE-2600 services in late-March/April and LTE-1800 services in July – when the process of frequency redistribution is officially scheduled to be completed. CEO of Lifecell, Ismet Yazici, said that his company is ‘ready’ to launch 4G in July, as soon as the frequency conversion is finished, confirming: ‘We will launch in the 1800MHz band in July. Nobody has the right to launch it until July. Everyone should start simultaneously. Now it will be a frequency exchange. This is a difficult and complicated operation.’ Kyivstar’s president Peter Chernyshov said that his operator has all the infrastructure in place to launch 1800MHz 4G, whilst CEO of Vodafone Ukraine Olha Ustinova also said that the network of her company is ready for 4G launch. She added: ‘I predict that in the 2600MHz band we will launch it at the end of March … In the 1800MHz band – early July.’
