Rain optimising LTE sites to alleviate congestion

16 Feb 2018

South African wireless LTE service provider Rain is working to optimise its LTE sites which are experiencing congestion, MyBroadband writes. The operator said: ‘Currently, Rain has 1,880 active sites in major metropolitan areas throughout the country. The congestion during peak time is only affecting a small percentage of users. The vast majority of our users are still enjoying a very good service with average speeds from 15Mbps, with the best we have seen exceeding 100Mbps.’ The operator said that it is ‘making good progress’ optimising the network to alleviate congestion.
