Ukraine’s National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR) has approved the 2600MHz 4G licence bid applications of the country’s three largest mobile operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and Lifecell, and will hold the competitive auction for the frequencies on 31 January, reports Liga.net. On 26 January the regulator will announce the bidders’ price proposals in advance, with a total of 2×40MHz on offer, split into seven lots (six 2×5MHz blocks and a 2×10MHz lot). The starting price for the 2×10MHz lot is set at UAH572 million (USD19.66 million) with the 2×5MHz lots priced at a minimum of UAH286 million each (UAH1.716 billion for six lots), representing a minimum total income to the state of UAH2.288 billion.
