T-Mobile US: 600MHz LTE now live in 586 locations

5 Jan 2018

T-Mobile US has announced that its LTE networks now cover 322 million people, following the ‘breakneck’ deployment of 600MHz 4G cell sites. The cellco’s 600MHz LTE network – which was inaugurated in Wyoming in August 2017 – is now live in 586 towns and cities. Going forward, T-Mobile expects to launch more than a dozen new 600MHz-capable smartphones in 2018.

TeleGeography notes that T-Mobile US agreed to pay USD7.99 billion for a total of 1,525 regional licences in the FCC licensing process, securing an average of 31MHz of 600MHz spectrum nationwide.
