22 Dec 2017

InterDnestrCom (IDC), the sole telecoms provider in the autonomous region of Transnistria, has launched VoLTE services. It now owns more than 120 LTE base stations and claims to offer 4G services to more than 90% of the region’s area.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, IDC began deployment of a 4G LTE network in June 2011 in partnership with Alcatel-Lucent. The 4G network was trialled in December that year with a commercial launch following in the Tiraspol area in April 2012.
