Tele2 Latvia, Nokia achieve 575Mbps speeds over ‘5G-ready’ network

15 Dec 2017

Tele2 Latvia has achieved download transmission speeds of up to 575Mbps over its Nokia-installed ‘5G-ready’ networks in the Ziepniekkalns district of the capital Riga and the nearby town of Talsi. The same equipment will also be installed on its base stations in Valmiera, in the north of the country, Tele2 notes.

Mobile Europe reports Tele2 chairman Valdis Vancovics as saying that the operator has reserved spectrum in the 3.6GHz band for future 5G services, to allow its clients to be ‘among the first’ to enjoy the advantages of the new technology.
