Poland’s INEA sold to Macquarie infrastructure fund

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has announced that it is selling its majority stake in Polish telco INEA to Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5 (MEIF5), which is managed by global infrastructure investor Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Poznan-based INEA offers triple and quadruple-play telecommunications services to its residential and business customers, including cable TV, broadband, fixed and mobile telephony. It has networks passing some 500,000 households in western Poland, with an expansion project underway to pass a further 200,000 homes.
