Beeline Kazakhstan assimilates broadband unit 2DAY

Mobile operator Beeline Kazakhstan, registered as KaR-Tel, yesterday issued a notification that it is merging with its Kazakh sister company 2DAY Telecom, a fixed-wireless broadband provider. 2DAY Telecom, which offers WiMAX broadband coverage in cities including Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe and Atyrau, confirmed that it is merging into KaR-Tel under the Beeline brand. A unit of the VEON group, Beeline is Kazakhstan’s second-placed of three mobile operators, and also competes in the local fixed broadband market led by Kazakhtelecom.
