Digicel launches triple-play services in Bermuda

4 Dec 2017

Digicel has unveiled its new triple-play internet, TV and voice telephony packages in Bermuda following network upgrade works that have been underway throughout most of this year. The telco is using fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to carry the bundled plans which can support peak download speeds of up to 200Mbps, together with three fibre TV plans and fibre phone options. For example, the telco’s 104 channel TV option, together with a 25Mbps connection, is priced at BMD185 (USD185) per month. While for customers looking for stand-alone fibre internet options, the Fibre 25 plan has download/upload speeds of 25Mbps/10Mbps, and is priced at BMD105 per month.

Paul Stafford, CEO of Digicel Bermuda confirmed the launch, saying: ‘We’ve brought a world-class fibre service to Bermuda that will finally deliver the much-awaited true fibre experience customers have been waiting for’. Digicel believes it has an edge as its network takes fibre-optic cabling all the way into customers’ homes, rather than stopping at the curb and taking the signal into a home through copper cables.
