Orange wants 5G in Slovakia by 2022

The Slovakian fixed and mobile operator Orange Slovensko says it is looking to launch a commercial 5G network between 2020 and 2022, having already begun negotiations on equipment contracts with vendors Nokia and Ericsson. Meanwhile, the Slovak Spectator says the government is looking to work with local telcos to facilitate an early rollout of the new generation of mobile technology. Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation Peter Pellegrini commented: ‘As one of the prerequisites for development it must be part of our strategy to boost the competitiveness of the whole country.’
