Cellular operators in Uganda are blaming third-party retailers for illegally hiking prices after customers complained that they were paying more for airtime. Both MTN and Airtel have released statements denying that they have raised their prices and warning their subscribers not to recharge their airtime at unofficial outlets, and to do so only at an official store, online, or through their mobile money accounts.
