TELE Greenland awards modernisation project to Ericsson

3 Nov 2017

Greenland’s telecoms provider TELE Greenland has awarded a modernisation and management contract to equipment vendor Ericsson. Under the project, the Swedish vendor will increase the speed and capacity of TELE’s mobile broadband services, while at the same time expanding coverage for better service in remote villages. Furthermore, Ericsson Radio System will be used for fixed-wireless access in a number of settlements. The full-stack Ericsson network function virtualisation infrastructure (NFVI) solution will also be implemented as part of the project, enabling services such as VoLTE and local switching.
