Alpha Telecom Mali, which formally signed on the dotted line for its licence back in February 2013, has successfully completed the first test call over its infrastructure, Agence Ecofin reports. With the test call understood to have been made earlier this week, the report cites Alpha Telecom’s director general Dimitri Ouedraogo as saying that the newcomer’s network has been deployed with a capacity for five million customers at a cost of XOF100 billion (USD179 million). Looking ahead, Alpha Telecom is said to be aiming to introduce commercial offerings in December 2017 under the ‘Atel’ brand name.
