IKOM to be merged into SBB

3 Oct 2017

Multi-service cable provider Interaktivne Kablovske Objedinjene Mreze (IKOM, also written as I.KOM) is set to be rolled into Serbia Broadband (SBB) – part of United Group – according to a draft merger agreement released by the pair this week. The move follows SBB’s acquisition of 100% of IKOM in April this year, and will see all assets and obligations of the latter transferred to SBB; the document lists values IKOM assets at RSD571 million (USD5.7 million).

According to the most recent data published by the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Regulatorna agencija za elektronske komunikacije i postanske usluge, RATEL) IKOM was Serbia’s third-largest ISP by subscribers at end-June 2017 but claimed a market share of just 4%. SBB, meanwhile, was ranked a distant second with 27% of Serbia’s broadband subscribers compared to the 45% share attributed to MTS (Telekom Srbija) at that date.
