Vodafone expands 4G coverage to eight new locations in Cameroon

1 Sep 2017

Vodafone Cameroon, part of the Afrimax Group, has expanded its 4G LTE network to the towns and cities of Bafoussam, Bamenda, Buea, Edea, Kribi, Kumba, Limbe and Mutengene. The development follows the signing of a ‘strategic national network sharing agreement’ with CamTel last month, under which Vodafone is able to make use of the state-owned telecoms operator’s existing network infrastructure in Douala and Yaounde and to expand its coverage to new locations across the country.

‘Vodafone Cameroon will enable anyone with 4G compatible equipment to benefit from the best 4G LTE network in these new towns as it is already the case in Douala and Yaounde. We are starting today with eight new towns but we want to extend our 4G LTE ultra-fast network in the ten regions of the country before the end of the year,’ commented Richard Achu, Vodafone Cameroon’s Sales and Distribution Director, adding: ‘We will do our utmost to deepen our distribution network in the new cities in order to get closer to our new clients.’
