MTS starts EUR3m modernisation programme in Vrsac

State-owned full service provider Telekom Srbija, which operates under the MTS brand, has begun work on a EUR3 million (USD3.5 million) network modernisation programme in the city of Vrsac in cooperration with Finnish vendor Nokia. The development work also includes upgrades in the nearby towns of Pavlish, Veliki Sredisnjak and Gudurica. Whilst specific details of the modernisation programme have not been published, local news portal Vrsac Online quotes Telekom’s coordinator for the project Misa Cernicin as saying: ‘We are doing this work in order to improve the existing telephone, internet and television networks. We expect that the start of the work in Pavlish will be fully completed in a month.’
