Icelandic telecoms operator Siminn has revealed that its 4G LTE network now covers 98% of the population, following the deployment of new telecoms towers in Hellissandi, Rifi, Bildudalur, Sudureyri, Laufasi in Eyjafjordur and Krafla area. Eric Figueras, Managing Director of Technology and Services at Siminn, commented: ‘The transmission capacity is steadily increasing, and we have launched transmissions that support up to 300Mbps in the centre of Reykjavik, Akureyri and Grimsnes.’
