WiMAX firm Last Mile Communications to change hands

16 Jun 2017

Bahamas-based watchdog the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has confirmed that it has received a ‘simplified notification of a proposed transaction’ between Last Mile Communications (LMC) and VosCom. If approved, all outstanding LMC shares will be transferred to VosCom. URCA has invited any interested parties to submit feedback regarding the proposed change in ownership for its consideration.

TeleGeography notes that LMC is the legal name of Bahamas WIMAX, which has provided wireless broadband solutions to residential and corporate users since 2009. The ISP currently serves Nassau, Grand Bahama Island, the Abacos, the Exumas and selected parts of Harbour Island and Cat Island.
