Danish cable operator Stofa has selected US-based ARRIS International and Finland-based Teleste to upgrade its HFC networks to the DOCSIS 3.1 standard, as it seeks to deliver Gigabit broadband speeds to end-users. The collaboration between Stofa and ARRIS centres on a full technology migration across all Stofa’s sites in Denmark, with the vendor delivering a new headend-to-home network solution. ARRIS will provide Stofa with its E6000 Converged Edge Router and its NC2000 nodes with RemotePHY (R-PHY) module. Teleste meanwhile, has described its involvement with the cableco as ‘product-related cooperation’. This two-year contract is valued at EUR7.0 million (USD7.8 million).
