17 May 2017

Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile unit of German telecoms group Deutsche Telekom (DT), has rolled out ‘HD Voice Plus’ technology across its LTE network. Improving on the call quality of predecessor HD Voice, Telekom states that the new service reduces background noise and is more robust against transmission errors and signal fluctuations. HD Voice Plus is activated automatically for customers using the LTE mobile network and a device that supports the technology upgrade, currently the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, as well as the Sony Xperia XZ, although additional smartphone models will follow over the course of the year.
