Orange signs Tenerife fibre-optic network expansion deal

Orange Spain has announced the signing of an agreement with Tenerife that will see a further 32,500 homes connected to its fibre-optic network by the end of 2018. The municipalities set to gain coverage under the new agreement include Adeje, Puerto de la Cruz, Granadilla de Abona, La Orotava, Candelaria and Icod de los Vinos. The EUR19 million (USD20.4 million) expansion will increase the total number of homes and business reached by Orange’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network on the island from 82,000 to around 115,000.
